Sometimes a direct swap will not line up, or you simply want to visit somewhere without hosting in return. An SHH Key stay lets you do exactly that. Keys are earned by welcoming guests into your own home, and each Key is linked to an agreed stay when you use it.

Your earned Keys are added to your wallet, ready to use towards a future stay.

Find a home and request a Key stay. The Key is linked to that agreed stay when the host accepts.

Enjoy your stay without offering a return visit. The Key is released under the approved exchange rules.
How SHH Keys work
A few simple rules keep Keys fair and focused on genuine stays.
- An SHH Key is an internal platform credit, not cash.
- Keys cannot be bought, sold or freely transferred between members.
- A Key is always linked to an agreed stay before it is used.
- Reciprocal and non-simultaneous exchanges do not normally use Keys.
- A host can accept or decline any Key stay request.

What is an SHH Key?
An SHH Key is an internal platform credit that lets you arrange a one-way stay when a direct exchange is not possible. Keys are always linked to an agreed stay. They are not cash, cannot be bought and cannot be freely transferred.
How do I earn Keys?
You earn Keys by hosting other members for completed stays. Those Keys can then be used towards your own one-way stays elsewhere in the community.
Do reciprocal swaps use Keys?
No. Reciprocal and non-simultaneous exchanges do not normally use Keys, because both members are already exchanging their homes. Keys are for non-reciprocal, one-way stays.
Can a host decline a Key stay?
Yes. A host can accept or decline any request, including a Key stay. A Key is only reserved once a stay is agreed, and is released according to the approved exchange rules.
