Non-simultaneous exchanges
A direct home swap that happens on different dates. Perfect when you and another member both want to travel, but not at the same time.
Two linked stays on different dates
A non-simultaneous exchange is still a direct, two-way swap between two members, but the two stays happen at different times. You visit your partner’s home on one set of dates, and they visit yours on another. Because both members exchange their homes, no SHH Key is normally required.
One exchange, two visits
Leg one: you travel
You stay in your exchange partner’s home on your agreed dates while they carry on at home.
Leg two: you host
Later, on a separate agreed date, your partner stays in your home. Both stays are linked as one exchange.
You visit a member’s coastal home in June while they stay at home. In September, when your calendar is free, they travel to your city apartment. Two trips, one linked exchange, and no Key needed because you have both shared your homes.
How this differs from an SHH Key stay
Both let you travel on flexible dates, but the arrangement is different.
Non-simultaneous exchange
A direct two-way swap: both members stay in each other’s homes, just on different dates. No Key changes hands.
SHH Key stay
A one-way stay with no return visit. You use an SHH Key you have earned by hosting, rather than offering your own home in return.
