Verification, explained
We check members and homes separately, and only display badges for checks that have actually been completed. Here's what each verification step and badge means.
Identity and home are verified independently
Verifying a person is not the same as verifying a home, so we keep the two apart. This keeps our wording accurate and helps you understand exactly what has been confirmed.
Identity verification
Members complete identity verification as part of joining SHH. It helps confirm who they are and gives everyone greater confidence when connecting with other members.
Home verification
Homes go through an address and documentation review before they are listed. This helps confirm the members connection to the property and their ability to offer it for an exchange.
Badges that reflect completed checks
We only display a badge once the relevant check has been completed, so members can quickly understand what has been verified or reviewed.
The member has successfully completed SHH identity verification.
The home address has been reviewed as part of SHH verification process.
Supporting documentation for the home has been submitted and reviewed by SHH.
We only badge what we have actually checked
We use specific badges fo specific checks, so members can see exactly what has been verified or reviewed. Identity, addresses and home documentation are assessed separately, helping to create a clearer and more tansparent picture of each member and home. These checks help build confidence, they do not replace good communication, common sense and care when arranging an exchange.
