Safety & Trust

Verification, explained

We check members and homes separately, and we only use badges that reflect a check we have actually completed. Here is what each step and badge means.

Two separate checks

Identity and home are verified independently

Verifying a person is not the same as verifying a home, so we keep the two apart. This keeps our wording accurate and helps you understand exactly what has been confirmed.

Identity verification

Members confirm who they are during setup. This helps ensure you are dealing with real people and is the foundation of trust across the community.

Home verification

Homes go through an address and documentation review before they are listed. This confirms the home exists and that the member can offer it for an exchange.

What the badges mean

Accurate badges you can rely on

We only show a badge when the underlying check is complete, so a badge always means what it says.

Identity Verified

The member has completed our identity verification step.

Address Verified

The member has confirmed the home address through our review process.

Home Documentation Reviewed

Supporting documentation for the home has been submitted and reviewed.

Why we avoid a generic “Verified Owner” badge

We only claim what we can genuinely check. Rather than a blanket “verified owner” label, we describe each specific step we have completed. Verification builds trust, but it is not a guarantee of a member’s conduct or a property’s condition.
